Stumbling into business!

stumbling into business!

Every entrepreneur has a vision- and that vision has nothing do with working for someone else, Right?! An entrepreneur is someone stricken with the desire to create a working environment which allows them to express themselves uniquely and/or on a whim… an entrepreneur is someone who knows what it take to become successful but he or she lacks the proper capitol, network, training, etc… simply put- being an entrepreneur sounds great. It’s exotic and full of mystery.

We choose this identity because there is no other title to claim which sums-up what it is we do versus what it is we want to do for our business. When it comes down to labeling your position you cringe and then the default sets in (I have my own business).

“What do you do?” is the most common question any entrepreneur might try to dodge in order to avoid sounding egotistical. Most business owners lead with, “Hi, I’m ________- I’m a contractor.” Simple, straight forward and if that prospect needs a contractor there you are… a person in a service industry that people can identify with.

But how do you introduce yourself as an entrepreneur? “Hi, I’m________- I create businesses!”?

Better yet, what is an entrepreneur and how do you know if you are one?

An Entrepreneur is an individual who establishes an idea and creates a product or service to build on that idea- turning an idea into a business. An entrepreneur is someone who imagines, generally, the benefits of a product and/or service and inspires others to imagine the very same benefits. Being an Entrepreneur is like being an Alpha-consumer; someone who creates a business intuitively- vicariously living as an Alpha-consumer (someone with the power to create their own product/service), in order to fulfil a need/interest.

We are all born with an entrepreneurial spirit- its’ our sense of purpose which drives… Entrepreneurs are those same individuals, with talent and skill, who use that drive to bring their ideas into the real world. Some of us squander our talents/skills, others stumble into business after realizing that no one else is going to create what we desires (purpose).
